Why your skills are your software for your fitness

I have always regarded the human body as a sophisticated machine connected to a powerful yet organic processor. I am not the first to use this type of analogy that the brain is like a computer and the body like a vehicle. However, it is still a very illustrative set of metaphors for the institutions with which we were born.

We are all born with "hardware", our body and the physical brain, but we all develop specific "software". Software programming includes knowledge, skills (physical and mental), techniques, muscle memory, pattern recognition, reflexes, specific muscle activation patterns, and even stretching and flexibility.

So why do I use this cheesy analogy? ...

It has a lot to do with the type of fitness goals you set yourself. Do you have hardware or software goals?

If someone is having trouble achieving your fitness goals, it may be because you are focusing on fitness goals that are more about the structure of your body and less about the structure of your unique abilities and skills. .

If your main goal in your fitness is to lose a few kg / lb (depending on your measurement system) so that you can look thin or flat on certain muscles so you can look scattered, I must tell you that your motivation is, who suffer in the long run.

The disadvantage of physical goals in your physical condition is that they are two-dimensional. If you have this aesthetic look, then what? The reason these types of goals are limited is because the mind has trouble looking beyond it.

Software formatting goals, on the other hand, have much greater potential and are likely to be filled with larger and more natural motivations.

Let's take one of the standard exercises in the gym. For example, bench press. If your physical goal is to build a muscular chest similar to Arnie, your mind is likely to stop there. With this photo. On the other hand, if you do a bench press to develop a strong chest, stronger triceps and stable shoulders, so you have better control and stability when doing parkour, gymnastics or a sport or specific activity, find that you are behind a relatively easy game. When your mind can look beyond the initial benefits and find ways to benefit from training based on what you can do rather than your physical or even structured appearance, your chances of staying true to the exponential increase.

For this reason, I am convinced that all of your exercise and fitness regimes are based on physical activities, sports or movement styles that inspire you or strive for. If you are inspired by the software qualities of sports or physical activity, you will not see an end to what is possible and motivated. If you are motivated by the physical characteristics of your body, you cannot look beyond the physical structure of your business and seek motivation.
